History of the Chamber
The Nephi Chamber of Commerce was founded February 25, 1953 as with Elmo B. (Pose) Wilson as President; Munro Pexton as Vice President; and James E Reid, Jr. as Secretary. The purposes and functions of the chamber were announced to "Promote business activities in Nephi and to contribute to the development of the community as a whole. This includes stimulation of retail trade, the encouragement of other industries to establish in Nephi, and to do those things which will tend to make Nephi a more attractive place to live."
Reconstituted in late 2021 under the name Greater Nephi Chamber of Commerce, the chamber is a IRS 501(c)6 member organization that exists to work toward the betterment of our business members. We continue this 70 year legacy by making sure that the growth of the community is complimented by local businesses; and giving resources and support where it is needed most.

About The Chamber
The Greater Nephi Chamber of Commerce was founded in 2021 out of a desire to create a unified organization that can join small businesses in a singular effort for innovation, advocacy, and education.
We are at the forefront of driving innovation, advocating for change, and promoting education to foster economic growth and prosperity. The Greater Nephi Chamber understands that innovation is the key to staying competitive in a rapidly evolving global marketplace. By actively supporting and encouraging innovation, we create an environment that nurtures creativity, collaboration, and the exchange of ideas among businesses, entrepreneurs, and community leaders.
In addition to fostering innovation, The Greater Nephi Chamber of Commerce also serves as a powerful advocate for businesses and the Nephi community. We work tirelessly to shape policies that promote a favorable business climate, attract investment, and encourage managed growth. Through our advocacy efforts, we ensure that the voices of businesses are heard, and their needs are addressed, leading to a more conducive environment for innovation and economic development.
Recognizing the critical role of education in preparing a skilled workforce, The Greater Nephi Chamber of Commerce actively engages with educational institutions, policymakers, and community stakeholders to enhance educational opportunities. We advocate for increased funding, curriculum development, and teacher training, ensuring that students are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in the modern workforce. We also facilitate partnerships between businesses and schools, creating mentorship programs, internships, and apprenticeships that bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world application.
